The Dental Care Center has announced a sweet idea for giving back to the communities it serves by launching a Halloween Candy Buy Back Program that all area ghosts and goblins – as well as voters of all political persuasions – can support. Bring your leftover candy to any of our locations this THURSDAY, November 5, 2010 from 4 pm – 6 pm. If you’re looking for a productive use of your leftover Halloween candy, The we will buy it back for $1 per pound and all of the candy will be donated to U.S. military troops at Fort Bragg, near our Fayetteville location, for the holiday season.
On April 4th, 2009, The Dental Care Centers sponsored a continuing education event for our associate doctors to learn about mini-dental implants. For many patients, a lower denture can be very frustrating because of the lack of stability. Until recently, there have not been many options for patients who had trouble with lower denture stability. Mini-implants provide a way for several small titanium attachments to be placed in the bone of the lower jaw. The lower denture then has attachments placed under it to correspond to the attachments placed in the bone. The lower denture is then “snapped” on the attachments and is much more stable. This provides much improved function for the patient. While full size dental implants are still the ideal standard and should be considered first, if there is space limitations, mini-implants provide a great alternative. They are easy to place, have very little discomfort associated with healing, and allow the denture to be secured to the attachments immediately. We are excited to be able to provide this option for our patients.
